Spencer's preschool graduation

Spencer had his preschool graduation last week. He has loved preschool and grown up so much this year. He loves his teacher Miss Angie. She did so much this year to get him ready for Kindergarten. This whole week he kept asking me when he was going to preschool. When I told him that he graduated from preschool he said "I know, but when do I go to preschool?" I explained to him what a graduation is and that he is not going back to preschool. I can't believe that my little boy will be going to Kindergarten in a couple of months. Ellie is going to miss him so much, and so will I. I am very grateful that he will be going to half day, so I still get to have him home for part of the day.

Don't you love his self portrait.

Maddie loves dancing

Maddie has loved her dance class this year. We had fun watching her at her recital. She has found out that she loves to tumble and spends a lot of her spare time practicing. This year she learned a front handspring and a back walkover. Her current goal is to learn to do a back handspring.

Baby Ballerina

Ellie had a dance recital. She loves to dance, and her Nana is her teacher. She was such a cute dancer, she really knew her dances well and sang right along with the music.

Morgan and Maddie helped with the recital and did a great job.

Austin is the Fastest in the Wolf Den

Austin had the Fastest and most Ferocious pinewood derby car in the Wolf Den. The whole family had a great time cheering on our Racing Champ! Austin's pack had 27 racers and his car was the fastest in his den. Austin's car was named The Last Dragon. We are so proud of you Austin. Oh and Dad may have helped a little bit.

Living on Food Storage

Okay, so I have been a total blogger drop out since Thanksgiving. The girls did a post about Maddie's birthday, but I have been neglectful. We have had a lot happen and will try to catch up, or at least stay current.

We were asked by the bishop on Sunday, along with some other families in our ward, to live on our three month supply for 10 days. We started on Monday and are now on day three. We have been using up our fresh groceries, so it has not been to hard so far. We have had one total meltdown (Maddie), because we could not go out to ice cream with her cousins. But the kids are actually doing pretty well. I have been using my dinners that I have planned for our three months supply. I had to make bread on Monday because we were almost out.

So far I have learned that I need an egg substitute for making baked goods, I am down to three precious eggs (as Maddy calls them).

I need to practice my chili making, or find a better recipe. Even Austin wouldn't eat it! They filled up on cornbread and actually didn't complain to much.

If any one has a great food storage tip or recipes let me know, since I am experimenting right now.

I Swam with the Sharks

Scuba Diving in Denver anyone? Yes! Denver Colorado. We went on a fast trip to dive with sharks in the Downtown Aquarium in Denver. What a fun place. Thanks DAD.

Ellie's 3rd birthday!

Ellie is fabulous !!! (according to Maddy and Morgan)
My baby is three ! It is hard to believe that it has been three years since Ellie was born. She has a fun personality and keeps us smiling. She is turning into such a big girl. Now if we could only get her potty trained. She is also a great dancer, she goes to her Nana's dance class and loves it. I love having Ellie in our family. She takes her roll as baby in the family very seriously. She is slightly spoiled and knows that she is very cute.

Halloween at Grandmas

Every Halloween, we go to Grandma's house and make donuts. We also got to see the Buss' from Utah. We had a great weekend. Jared and Heather were sealed on Friday night. On Saturday we had a fun Halloween party. We ate out of pumpkin bread bowls, ate lots of candy, wore costumes, made donuts, and got to spend time with family. The only thing that could have made it better was to have all our family there. We missed our Utah Austins.

Morgan's 13th Birthday

I turned 13! I'm officially a teenager! For my party my mom, my sister, my friend, and I went ice skating!

Spencer's 5th Birthday

Wow! Look at those five year old muscles!

This is Spencer celebrating at Grandma's house.

Yea! I'm five!

October is our month of birthdays. We started with Spencer. He turned 5 and he counted down the days for about three weeks. He is such a fun kid. He keeps our life exciting and keeps us entertained. He says the funniest things. He started preschool and is always talking about Miss Angie, the latest thing he told me is that Miss Angie can count to a million. That for sure topped how high the other kids were saying that they could count. Although he has cried this week going to school, he loves it once he is in the door. We love our Spencer.

Ellie is a Girly Girl!

Ellie started a dance class with her Nana a couple of weeks ago. She was getting ready for her first class, we got her dressed in her dance clothes and pulled her hair back in a ponytail. She came out of the bathroom later with Spencer and said "I look pretty". Her and Spencer had taken a package of bobbypins and used the rest on her hair. She had about 30 bobbypins in her hair. She has watched her sisters get ready for dance lots of time and they always use bobbypins.

Last week Ellie wanted to cut some paper, so I let her use a pair of scissors. She cut a little more than the paper. She cut a big chunk out of the front of her hair. She is almost three and finally getting a little hair. The lucky part was that part of her hair was pulled up and so she did not get all of her bangs. We can swoop her bangs over and make it look pretty good. No more scissors for Ellie!

Tonight she was sitting on my lap and I noticed that she had on some eyeshadow. She was quite embarrased when I asked her about it and hid her face. I later found my eyeshadow in pretty bad shape, but at least she picked the light colors to put on. What a funny little girl!

Tonight Morgan told Ellie that she could only go to beauty school after she finished college.

The kids are back in school

The kids started school on Wednesday. Morgan started 7th grade. She likes Junior High so far. Maddy started 5th grade, and Austin started 2nd grade. The house seems quiet with just the two little ones around. We miss having the big kids home during the day. Spencer will start preschool the beginning of September. He is having a hard time understanding why everyone else started school and not him. Ellie is going to miss him when he is at preschool and is just me home with her. We look forward to another great school year. Here are pictures of the kids dressed and ready for their first day. Austin did not care what clothes he got for school, except for his cool Pokemon shirt that he wore on the first day.
