Our Trip to Utah

The open house at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple

We went to the temple as part of our family reunion. It was such a fun time, we were able to have my whole family together for three days. We stayed at the dell and were able to hang out a lot and enjoy each other.
The temple was so nice it is on a hill, close to the mountain. The Celestial room was so beautiful. We love that our kids could go in and see this beautiful Temple.

A day at Lagoon

We went to Lagoon with the Buss'. It was fun to watch the little ones as they were experiencing things for the first time. Spencer loved the Bat, which is the only roller coaster that he was tall enough to go on. The big kids were fearless and loved all of the roller coasters. It was nice because the three big kids could go on all of the rides. There were a lot of rides that all of us could go on. I think that this was our first trip where we all could go on rides together and not leave someone sitting with the little ones. We had a Fun and hot day at Lagoon. (Disneyland in Utah)

Fishing in the canyon

We spent some time fishing, But we only came back with fish stories.

Hanging around

These are pictures from the reunion. We had a great day hanging out in the Dell. My mom rented a bouncer for the kids and the kids bounced all day long. The adults played cards together. It was such a great day. The kids did a talent show and got to camp in the Dell that night.

This Summer our family went to Utah and we did a lot of hanging around.

We had so much fun running and playing in the dell.

We had a great time in Utah. It was fun to be there a little longer than usual. We stayed with the Buss' and with the Austins. They were so nice to let us stay with them. It was great to have some days for the kids to get to play with their cousins and get to know them better.

Spencer's preschool graduation

Spencer had his preschool graduation last week. He has loved preschool and grown up so much this year. He loves his teacher Miss Angie. She did so much this year to get him ready for Kindergarten. This whole week he kept asking me when he was going to preschool. When I told him that he graduated from preschool he said "I know, but when do I go to preschool?" I explained to him what a graduation is and that he is not going back to preschool. I can't believe that my little boy will be going to Kindergarten in a couple of months. Ellie is going to miss him so much, and so will I. I am very grateful that he will be going to half day, so I still get to have him home for part of the day.

Don't you love his self portrait.

Maddie loves dancing

Maddie has loved her dance class this year. We had fun watching her at her recital. She has found out that she loves to tumble and spends a lot of her spare time practicing. This year she learned a front handspring and a back walkover. Her current goal is to learn to do a back handspring.

Baby Ballerina

Ellie had a dance recital. She loves to dance, and her Nana is her teacher. She was such a cute dancer, she really knew her dances well and sang right along with the music.

Morgan and Maddie helped with the recital and did a great job.

Ellie is so cute!!!

Austin is the Fastest in the Wolf Den

Austin had the Fastest and most Ferocious pinewood derby car in the Wolf Den. The whole family had a great time cheering on our Racing Champ! Austin's pack had 27 racers and his car was the fastest in his den. Austin's car was named The Last Dragon. We are so proud of you Austin. Oh and Dad may have helped a little bit.

Living on Food Storage

Okay, so I have been a total blogger drop out since Thanksgiving. The girls did a post about Maddie's birthday, but I have been neglectful. We have had a lot happen and will try to catch up, or at least stay current.

We were asked by the bishop on Sunday, along with some other families in our ward, to live on our three month supply for 10 days. We started on Monday and are now on day three. We have been using up our fresh groceries, so it has not been to hard so far. We have had one total meltdown (Maddie), because we could not go out to ice cream with her cousins. But the kids are actually doing pretty well. I have been using my dinners that I have planned for our three months supply. I had to make bread on Monday because we were almost out.

So far I have learned that I need an egg substitute for making baked goods, I am down to three precious eggs (as Maddy calls them).

I need to practice my chili making, or find a better recipe. Even Austin wouldn't eat it! They filled up on cornbread and actually didn't complain to much.

If any one has a great food storage tip or recipes let me know, since I am experimenting right now.
